Welcome to The Koç School Academic Writing Centre!!!

For help with college essays, personal statements and other academic writing you can request a one to one appointment with a member of the writing centre. The student focus of the academic writing centre is designed to encourage independence in individual writing skills and assist in the development of personal study skills.

Our service is focussed on improving your academic English Writing skills for essays, reports, personal statements and other forms of academic writing. For help with writing and study skills you can request one-to-one or small group appointment with a teacher for guidance. When you make a writing appointment, you must submit an academic writing sample (paragraph, essay, statement). The teacher will not provide corrections, but will use your writing sample to guide you toward better writing. You must submit your writing sample in a text format like .doc, .rtf, .txt.

AWC appointments are available for the general student population but priority in the first semester will be given to Year 12 students making applications to overseas universities who require guidance and assistance with their written applications.

While the campus remains open for onsite teaching, appointments will be onsite in the AWC room 109F. In the event of online classes, appointments will be conducted online through Zoom.

In addition to individual appointments, the AWC will also run a series of presentations throughout the academic year in order to support all of our students in their writing and study skills. These presentations will cover topics such as vocabulary learning strategies, ways to improve sentences and tips for developing written coherency.
