Attendance Follow-Up

Within the scope of MoNE instructions, the 2021-2022 academic year will start in face to face mode. The physical school attendance of our students will be essential in this period and will be recorded.

Practices to be followed for our students who reported their chronic illness via E-Nabız will be organized need based and on a school basis and shared with the related students.

In face to face, hybrid or distance education models, our students are required to attend lessons as per MoNE regulations and the attendance records will be kept.

Assessment and Evaluation

The academic year begins with the readiness efforts made by each course. Based on the results of readiness applications given to students by their teachers, departments or other units, lesson designs are made and students are strengthened according to their readiness results. Various activities are conducted and followed by evaluations with the purpose of monitoring our students’ development, determining rooms for improvement, taking precautions to make up, determining and interpreting their strengths.

Assessment and evaluation procedures are organized in line with the Turkish Ministry of National Education’s statements. In case of a switch to distance education or hybrid models, evaluations will be made on a class and level basis through the use of different tools. These tools were planned within the scope of the Digital Transformation Project and integrated in lesson plans. Departments will have the chance to carefully track the academic progress of students via the use of tools that are appropriate for the lesson content.

Guidance and Psychological Counseling

Our school’s Guidance and Psychological Counseling Department planned social-emotional services for students in accordance with distance and face to face education processes. A support program was prepared by experts in the field to meet the basic developmental and psychosocial needs of our students and parents in the pandemic period such as normalization, strengthening, reestablishing bonds and looking at the future with hope. There will also be a parent version of this program, which will be reinforced with the consultancy of leading academicians and experts and will be spread throughout the year.

Guidance and Psychological Counseling Department plans and realizes the social-emotional readiness efforts within the K12 integrity. Students’ needs will be determined via assessment tools that will be used at the start of the year, GPC class activities, student/parent information forms and data collected from other resources. In line with these determined needs, social-emotional development of students will be tracked through individual student and parent meetings, GPC class activities, orientations, professional guidance-career plan efforts and bulletins (for students, teachers, parents). At the end of the year, the progress will be assessed by the level counselors and the next year will be planned.

In addition to psychosocial support, the online Parenting Academy program that was initiated last year to support parents’ parenting skills and improve the quality of the support they provide for their children in the pandemic will continue this year. Our school’s experts will specifically be working on fields such as the cognitive and mental foundations of learning, supporting student’s learning progress and motivation.

Primary school practices will include cognitive support along with social-emotional support while for practices in middle school and high school the focus will be based on needs that emerge during the pandemic and characteristics of the adolescence period.

Regardless of the model to be applied, teachers, deans and level psychological counselors will work in coordination to support the students’ social-emotional development.
