The Overseas College Guidance Office at The Koç School’s mission is to help students who are considering undergraduate education outside of Turkey to explore that possibility and for those who ultimately decide they would like to study abroad to seek appropriate university choices. OCGO helps students explore options all over the world including the US, UK, Canada and Europe.
The office does not push the idea of studying overseas or believe it is the right choice for every student; the office services need to be considered as providing additional undergraduate options since choosing the right university for undergraduate education is one of the most important life choices that students will make. OCGO is here to guide and support students through this process.
OCGO works in conjunction with the Turkish University Counselor and the Counseling Office and are here to help you make the decision whether study in Turkey or overseas, to discuss costs, selection criteria and preparation for admissions to universities outside of Turkey.
For those who decide to apply to university outside of Turkey, OCGO will assist in choosing universities that fit families’ budgets, offer the majors students consider, and are good fits in terms of students’ academic backgrounds and personal living and learning styles. The comprehensive process begins as early as Lise Prep and also offer support for summer school choices.
The University and Colleges Admissions Services (UCAS) Office exists to support High School students interested in applying to universities in the United Kingdom and other European Union countries. 12th grade students are guided through the entire UCAS process, given advice on their choices of universities and assisted in producing their personal statements. Many of the leading UK and European Union universities send representatives to our school every year and the Director of UCAS makes regular visits to the UK and other countries in Europe to maintain links with university admissions offices and to arrange tours for prospective applicants.
The UCAS office is located in Room 113 in E Block (extension 6154).
The college selection process is progressive and collaborative. There are many meetings, strategic planning, discussions and research ahead of students before a list of schools is finalized and the office shares documents, timetables and workshops regularly. While going through this process; Overseas College Guidance Office supports students and parents at every stage.
